Learning Management System

GOLD manages the system-wide Learning Management System (LMS) used by all of Georgia’s technical colleges. In addition, GOLD oversees and maintains several other applications that enable, enhance, and support online and blended learning.

The current LMS used by TCSG is Blackboard Ultra, which provides a secure, centralized platform for delivering courses. Through Blackboard Ultra, instructors and course developers can design, build, and deliver course materials and learning activities. Students, in turn, use the LMS to access content, engage with instructors, and collaborate with peers in their virtual classrooms.

Point of Contact (POC)

Each TCSG college has a designated Point of Contact (POC) who manages and supports the college’s Blackboard environment. POCs serve as the primary resource for faculty who need help with Blackboard-related questions, troubleshooting, or training.

The most common areas where POCs provide assistance include:

  • LMS Administration: Managing the technical and administrative aspects of the college’s online learning platform.
  • Instructional Design: Designing and developing effective, engaging learning experiences.
  • Educational Technology: Supporting the integration and effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

To find your college’s POC, view the POC List, which provides contact information for each college’s designated Blackboard support person.
